Our organisational and team development training programs include:-
Team Building Programs
Team Building can be a wasted investment without a clear understanding of what current issues impede team performance and what you expect a high team performance to look like in your organisation. At best many team building events can be ‘fun’ and at worst team building can be ‘a waste of time’.
When selecting a team building program is helpful to understand what a team building program is trying to achieve.
Team Building is the process of improving collective performance by:-
- Communicating and getting ownership of the vision, strategies and goals
- Removing barriers to achieving team goals
- Enabling the team to solve problems, make consensus decisions, and reduce conflict with the use of tools and methodologies.
- Building team spirit by building relationships, understanding individual differences and using the unique strengths of people to achieve the team’s goals.
Traditional approaches to team building may only address the latter point above and fail to have long lasting results in the workplace. That is, they fail to get the team performing at an optimum level to achieve the organisation’s strategies.
Our team building programs aim to:-
- Clarify organisational and team goals
- Obtain commitment to these goals
- Provide teams with the tools to make decisions, solve problems collectively
- Build team spirit with the use of MBTI or DISC profiling
- Improve interpersonal communication and relationships
- Have fun with the use of experiential team activities
Before delivering a team building program we interview as many people as possible to uncover the issues that are impeding team performance. The team building program is then specifically designed with an appropriate intervention strategy to unearth issues, devise solutions and develop a plan to implement after the program.
Our team building programs are always fun, interactive and highly challenging and may include indoor and outdoor activities, role plays, case studies, tools such as Edward deBono’s Six Thinking Hats training, and real life simulations.

Edward deBono’s Six Thinking Hats
People for Success assists organisations to improve their problem solving and decision making ability and their creative thinking skills by providing team members and leaders Edward deBono’s Six Thinking Hats training.
Edward deBono’s Six Thinking Hats Training tools are a simple and practical way of using the collective intelligence of a group to increase the quality and quantity of outcomes in meetings whilst dramatically shortening meetings, (up to 75% time saving). This method is now rapidly being taken up by corporations such as Du Pont, IBM, NASA Prudential Texas Instruments, NTT, Statoil, Shell and JP Morgan. The six hats represent six modes of thinking and are directions to think rather than labels for thinking. The hats are used proactively rather than reactively and promote fuller input from all people attending meetings.
In de Bono's words it (Six Hats) "separates ego from performance". The six hats system encourages performance rather than ego defence. People are encouraged to contribute positively to every idea even though they may initially support the opposite view. Edward de Bono's six thinking hats training will increase the number and quality of ideas leading to true innovation.

"...an improvement in profit..."
People for Success’ corporate training program on business strategy assisted our retailers in defining a vision for their business and what they want to achieve in the short, medium and long term. By participating in actual working sessions the retailers determined their goals and committed to action with the result being an improvement in profit.”
Sue McKindlay, Marketing Manager - St Ives Shopping Village
"...assisted us to define business goals and strategies"
“Kristyn’s approach to our team building event and complete understanding of what we wanted to achieve ensured an extremely effective outcome.
It was obvious from the start that we were in good hands as Kristyn assisted both companies, define business goals and a strategy, then went on to create an amazing event with a complexity of team challenges including games and events which involved all of the team selecting what they wanted ‘more of’ and ‘less of’ within the Alliance which formed a list of ‘Shared Goals’ for the team.
The valuable tools and processes utilised throughout the day left a lasting impression on attendees, with only positive feedback received.
Kristyn’s ability to embrace and capture all types of personalities and styles is a tribute to her which left the team with a highly memorable and extremely beneficial experience.
Peter Munro, V1 Alliance Manager, Downer Australia
"...professional and innovative approach..."
"Kristyn’s professional and innovative approach, both with deBono’s Six Thinking Hats training and to developing the workshop scenarios with me, ensured a very successful outcome for our first offsite team building event. The participants left the conference motivated and ready to look at issues in a more positive and innovative manner."
Roger Daix, Vice President of Operations -Thales Australia
"...an excellent full day programme that enabled all of our people to come away with the appropriate tools to assist them in setting their most relevant goals, ensuring that they are executed on time and on plan..."
We approached People for Success and asked the principal, Kristyn Haywood, to design a one day seminar on Goal-Setting, to be presented at our 2009 conference.
The delegates attending the conference would include sales managers, logistics, customer service and warehouse personnel and we were very aware that designing a course which would be beneficial to all of the people attending would present a great challenge to Kristyn and her organisation. Kristyn eagerly took up our challenge and immediately set about designing a course specifically to suit our requirements. Maintaining regular contact to ensure that she was on the right track, Kristyn was able to deliver an excellent full day programme that enabled all of our people to come away with the appropriate tools to assist them in setting their most relevant goals, ensuring that they are executed on time and on plan. Furthermore the day was interspersed with short team building exercises involving collaboration and a lot of humour, the ideal way to learn!
David Thurstans, Managing Director - SCHOTT Australia
"...the course was well suited to our business and structure..."
"After attending the 'team building' workshop run by People for Success, I will change the way I communicate with others, express myself and stop and listen to those who are more introverted than myself. I really enjoyed the course and thought it was well suited to our business and our structure."
Nikki Dickson, Sales Director - Galileo Southern Cross New Zealand
